At least there is solder beneath the black vinyl tape? This is very much temporary, I assure you. Unlike gearboxes, I prefer my blinker intervals automatic.

This is the result of an ignition switch short. I hear being on fire was standard equipment for late '80s Fords.

I suspect the faded MGD tap handle on mine is due to "already suncracked and brittle plastic" being standard equipment on '60s Fords. Of course, when I had an 80s VW, it had a horn button bypass under the column...
